Welcome to Capitol Avenue State Employees Toastmasters Club Home Page!

The mission of a Toastmasters Club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.

Capitol Avenue State Employees Toastmasters Club is open to any state employee/retiree. Our club members have come from a variety of state agencies, including the Departments of Mental Health and Addiction Services, Public Health, Public Works; the Office of the State Comptroller; and the Office of Policy and Management. They represent the range of job titles from secretary to manager. The Toastmasters educational program develops skills that will help you in your position. Toastmasters is for everyone.

What is Toastmasters?

Toastmasters International is the leading movement devoted to making effective oral communications a worldwide reality.

Through its member clubs, Toastmasters International helps men and women learn the arts of speaking, listening and thinking -- vital skills that promote self-actualization, enhance leadership potential, foster human understanding, and contribute to the betterment of mankind.

It is basic to this mission that Toastmasters International continually expand its worldwide network of clubs organized by Districts, thereby offering ever-greater numbers of people the opportunity to benefit from its programs.    Capitol Avenue State Employees Club is one of more than one hundred clubs in District 53.

For more information contact our Club President: Ulric Gravesdande at (860) 418-6061.
